DIY Cinnamon Oil for Hair Growth
Try out this little known DIY Cinnamon oil recipe for hair growth and overall healthier, stronger hair.
We bring you two different methods of making this aromatic oil. They are both effective – give them a try depending on your schedule and preference.

Benefits of Cinnamon Oil
Cinnamon Oil not only has a pleasant smell, but it also boasts the following benefits for your hair:-
1. It boosts blood circulation to the scalp, stimulating growth.
2. It has antimicrobial properties that help fight scalp infections.
3. The anti-inflammatory properties of this oil help reduce scalp inflammation.
4. Cinnamon Oil strengthens hair strands, thus promoting stronger hair.
Ingredients
• X10 – 15 Cinnamon sticks
• X1 clean mason jar with a lid
• X3/4 cup of carrier oil (e.g. Olive oil, Grapeseed oil, Almond or Jojoba oil)
• Strainer
Method
1. Double Boiling Oil Infusion Method
1. Place the cinnamon sticks in a large heat safe bowl and then add the love oil to the bowl.
2. Bring a pot of water to boil, and then let it simmer.
3. Lower the bowl containing the ingredients gently into the water. Using the double boiling method, keep the jar submerged in the water for at least 45 minutes. *Do not bring to a boil, but let it simmer on low to medium heat.
4. Remove the bowl and set it aside to cool.
5. Once cooled, strain the mixture into a dark coloured clean mason jar.
6. Optional: Allow the cinnamon oil to infuse for a further 2 weeks. You can leave the sticks in the oil for this period.
Your oil is now ready for use.
2. Jar Infusion Method
1. Place the cinnamon sticks in a clean mason jar.
2. Pour the olive oil over the sticks to cover and seal the jar.
3. Shake and set aside on a sunny spot for 3 weeks. Shake the jar 2- 3 times a day.
4. After this period, strain the oil with a cheese cloth or strainer and then transfer to a clean jar for storage.
Your oil is now ready for use.

Storage
To store your DIY Cinnamon oil, keep it in a cool, dark area.
Usage
Cinnamon oil can be used as a scalp massage oil. You can massage it into your scalp for a few minutes to stimulate hair growth.
You also use it in your leave-in conditioner, as well as in your DIY home mask.
Make sure that you dilute the cinnamon oil – its use in concentrated doses is not recommended.
Allergens
To make sure that you do not have any allergic reactions, do a patch test on your skin first before applying to your scalp.
Rub this oil inside your elbow and wait for 24 to 48 hours to see how your skin reacts to this oil.
If you experience a rash or a tingling reaction, then stop use immediately. Do not use if breastfeeding or pregnant.
