- Rose oil smells great, is a therapeutic treatment for your hair and can be used for relaxation and stress relief.
- It is great scalp oil and can help sooth a dry, and itchy scalp.
- It restores sheen to dull hair and it is a great light oil to seal moisture into your hair.
- Rose oil helps tame frizz and is a great oil to use to smoothen and soften hair.
Ingredients
- X1 cup of pressed dry roses
- X1 mason jar with a lid
- X1 cup of carrier oil (e.g. Olive oil, Grapeseed oil, Almond or Jojoba oil)
- Strainer
Method
- Put the rose petals in the mason jar and pour a 1/2 cup of your preferred carrier oil into the jar.
- Bring a pot of water to boil, and then let it simmer.
- Place a smaller pot into it and then lower the jar into it. Using the double boiling method, keep the jar submerged in the water for at least 45 minutes. *Do not bring to a boil, but let it simmer.
- Remove the mason jar and let it cool down.
- After it has cooled, strain the mixture, collecting the oil into a dark coloured jar.
- Add a handful of petals, add more carrier oil to it to submerge the roses and close the jar. Shake thoroughly to mix and then set aside to soak overnight.
- Strain the petals out and store your oil in a dark place for at least 3 weeks.
Your oil is now ready for use.
