Benefits of Pumpkin & Honey Hair Mask

woman with natural hair looking at herself in the mirrorPumpkin is packed with nutrients that promote hair health. It contains Vitamin A, which supports hair growth and scalp health. Additionally, pumpkin is rich in Vitamins C and K, and zinc, all of which are essential for strong, healthy hair.

It has the following hair nourishing properties:-

🌺 The essential nutrients in pumpkin help strengthen brittle hair.

🌺 Pumpkin is a a rich anti-oxidant, which helps protect your hair from UV rays.

🌺 It has great slip, and can be used as an effective hair detangler

🌺 It adds definition and shine to coils, curls and kinks.

Looking to try another moisturising hair mask? Our Avocado & Aloe Vera Hair Mask is a firm favorite. 

Ingredients

  • X 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • X1 tablespoon of honey
  • X1 cup of pumpkin puree
  • Optional: 15 – 20 drops of Rosemary / Clove Essential Oil.

For longer (or shorter hair), you can double (halve) the ingredients accordingly. 

Steps

1. Mix the pumpkin and olive oil in a bowl until you get a creamy consistency.

2. Add the honey and preferred essential oil and mix thoroughly.

3. Transfer the mixture to an applicator bottle / bowl. 

It is now ready for use. 

Application

1. Apply the mask to clean, damp hair. Make sure you coat your strands generously from root to tip.

2. Cover your hair with a shower cap for 20 – 20 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water.

3. Continue with your normal wash / co-wash routine.

Storage

Leftover pumpkin hair mask can be frozen. You can defrost it on the day you plan to use it.

Recomendation

This mask is best used in your monthly deep conditioning treatment routine.

Should you suffer from dry, brittle hair, you can apply this hair mask bi-weekly.
