Benefits of Okra Gel Leave-In Conditioner
Okra is great for the health of one’s hair, as it is rich in Vitamin C, A and K and also helps keep hair moisturised for longer.
Ingredients
• X ½ cup of cut Okra (small pieces)
• X ¼ cup of Aloe Vera Juice
• X3 tablespoons of grapeseed oil or an oil of your choice (i.e. almond, coconut or olive oil)
• Optional: A few drops of your preferred essential oil /glycerine.
Instructions
1. Add 1 ⅔ of water to the cut pieces of Okra and bring it to a boil, before reducing the heat.
2. Let it simmer for 15 minutes, stirring continuously and then remove it from the stove.
3. Strain the mixture to separate the gel from the diced okra pieces.
4. Add the aloe vera juice, grapeseed (or your preferred oil) and essential oil to the mixture, stir to mix and then let it cool off before transferring it to a spray bottle. Your mixture should have a watery consistency.
Your leave-in conditioner is ready for use.
Shake well before use each time.
Storage
You can store the mixture in your fridge to help prolong its shelf life.
NaHaZo Tip
If your hair is sensitive to the acidity in aloe vera, you can dilute the aloe vera 1:1 with water so that it is not too acidic. Also, make sure you use it with caution and see how your hair reacts, before prolonged use.

Bonus tip: To lock the gel into your hair, you can spritz it and then cover it with a shower cap before hopping into the shower. Doing this will give your hair extra definition, as well as make it soft and shiny.
Usage
You can also use the mask in the following ways: –
• As a hair mask;
• To refresh your curls;
• To style your hair, especially for your twist outs and Bantu knots.
Aloe Vera leave-in conditioner can be used on both your scalp, as well as along the shaft of your hair. It is also a great moisturiser, and can be used before applying oil to your hair in the LOC / LCO hair regime.
